Blood of Olympus

(GOODREADS)
So here it is. The thrilling conclusion to what has been nearly a five year commitment.

 And to be honest?

I loved every bit of it.

I have never once regretted picking up this series in the eighth grade, never once regretted the torture of waiting an entire year  between every book.

And now here it is. nearly five years after finishing The Lightning Thief,  I read what is quite possibly, the last book about Percy Jackson's world, The Blood of Olympus.

BoO alternates between five POVs; Jason, Piper, Leo, Reyna and Nico. This is the first book that has POVs not centered around the seven in the prophecy. And to be quite honest, I was pleasantly surprised about Nico and Reyna. I got to see sides of them they never show; their insecurities and fears. And I loved watching them looking out for each other.

Honestly, Nico and Reyna are kind of my new Brotp. And the both of them kind of left me like this:

And bravo to Rick Riordan for leaving me laughing to myself at the most inappropriate moments with stuff like this:

“Atlantis?' Jason asked.
'That's a myth,' Percy said.
'Uh...don't we deal in myths?'
'No, I mean it's a MADE-UP myth. Not like, an actual true myth.'
'So this is why Annabeth is the brains of the operation, huh?”

“You will suffer, son of Hades!’
What else is new? Nico thought.”

And my personal favorite:

“Like the zodiac sign?' Percy asked. 'I'm a Leo.'
'No, stupid,' Leo said, 'I'm a Leo. You're a Percy.”

BoO left me pleasantly surprised, and I loved how things were wrapped up neatly. Is there room for more if Rick so chooses? definitely. There was plenty to br explored, and I didn't like not knowing every possible answer.

And I despised of saying goodbye to Percy for the last time, because let's be honest; I missed his sass.

All in all, I'm not disappointed in the least. It left me satisfied and I definitely enjoyed the lighthearted mood. And the butt kicking.

to make it clear it left me like this:

Rating: 8.5/10

Happy Reading,

Sidra
